• In the Engineering and Contracting Division of the VOESTALPINE AG (the later VAI and today’s PRIMETALS), Linz, Gerhard Richter initially worked as a designer, then as a project engineer for converter steelmaking equipment. He was already intensively involved in the planning, offer preparation and order processing of projects for international customers.

• At EBNER Industrieofenbau GmbH, Leonding, Gerhard Richter was employed as a sales and project manager for aluminum heat-treatment facilities. Amongst others, he was responsible for large projects in North America, Western and Eastern Europe, as well as South-East Asia. Moreover, Gerhard Richter was then also in charge of the development of the export market South-East Asia (for all 3 product divisions of EBNER: steel, copper metal and aluminum heat-treatment facilities).

• In mid-2001, Gerhard Richter took-over the management of the Steel Cutting and Grinding Machine Division at BRAUN Maschinenfabrik GmbH in Vöcklabruck. In this function, he was member of the corporate management team and reported directly to the company’s CEO. He was responsible for all of the division’s employees in sales, product and project management, order processing, after-sales service, as well as design engineering and R & D.
  
  Furthermore, Gerhard Richter was responsible for:
  
• the strategic planning and personnel development of the division
• marketing and sales for all machines, technologies and services of the division (especially entry into new markets – most-recently Japan – as well as care for key-account customers and strategic partners)
• establishing and expanding a global sales and service network for the division – including search and selection of suitable local agents and especially foundation and development of the Chinese subsidiary BRAUN Machine Technologies (Beijing) Co., Ltd., of which Gerhard Richter was the executive director and legal representative since September 2012
• Search and selection of suitable management and sales staff for the new BRAUN Machine Technologies (Beijing) Co., Ltd. and the already existing US subsidiary BRAUN Machine Technologies, LLC

Together with 2 other members of the corporate management team, Gerhard Richter was also the driving force in the introduction and initial certification of a quality management system according to EN ISO 9001:2015 for BRAUN Maschinenfabrik GmbH in 2014/2015.

In the almost 19 years of his employment with BRAUN, the division’s annual sales increased almost seven-fold. BRAUN became the world’s leading supplier of high-performance abrasive cut-off machines and the product high-pressure grinding machine for various steel and special alloy products was successfully launched on the market.

As a result of the transfer of the company’s management to a new CEO and planned organizational changes, Gerhard Richter left BRAUN by mutual consent. He the set-out to start his own company, ONEMET Technology Trading GmbH, in order to make the market knowledge he had acquired in the course of his previous activities for the above-mentioned, highly specialized technology suppliers, as well as his diverse international contacts available to customers and partners.

Gerhard Richter is a member of the professional associations VDEH-Stahlinstitut (Germany), AIST (USA) and SEAISI (South-East Asia).

Gerhard Richter is married and father of two adult sons.
