Automazioni Industriali CAPITANIO Srl (AIC) celebrates its 50th anniversary and expands business

With a big party at its main factory in Torbole Casaglia (Brescia), Automazioni Industriali CAPITANIO Srl (AIC), a company that is represented by ONEMET and active in the fields of switchgear 
construction, automation and mechatronics or robotic solutions for the steel industry, celebrated its 50th anniversary on October 24, 2025. In addition to employees from the various AIC Group locations, numerous guests from AIC customers and partners from all over the world (amongst them ONEMET CEO Gerhard Richter and his wife Sabine) were invited to this event. They enjoyed a fantastic program and had a wonderful time. Huge thanks go to the entire Capitanio family, especially to AIC CEO Marco Capitanio, his wife Milena and his father Dino, as well as to all AIC employees who were involved in organizing and executing this party. Congratulations on an incredible event!  
In its 50 so far 50 years of existence, AIC has not only become one of the most competent and flexible providers of electrical systems and customized automation solutions for the steel industry (AIC is also authorized system partner of ROCKWELL, SIEMENS and ABB), but has also developed innovative mechatronic and robotic solutions which elevate various production processes to a new level (such as the TrimBot for the automatic sampling of steel wire coils, a robot for the automatic labeling of steel bar bundles or wire rod coils, or an automatic stacking system for rolled steel bar, flat steel or profiles). This portfolio also includes high-performance tying machines for steel bar, tube and section bundles, manufactured by ATS Mechatronics Srl, a company based in Trasaghis (Udine), that has been part of the AIC Group since 2019 and is, like the parent companyAIC, also represented by ONEMET. 
 
Under the new motto „Crafting Evolution“, the AIC Group continues its expansion. This year, AIC became the sole owner of the German company KERN Industrie-Automation GmbH (KIA), that also offers electrical systems and automation solutions, but also possesses special expertise in safety technology for process lines e. g. for strip processing. AIC acquired KIA after initially cooperating with the company and then acquiring a first portion of shares. 
 
In addition to the main plants of AIC and ATS in Italy as well as to the KIA plant in Germany, the AIC Group also has its own subsidiaries in the Czech Republic, the USA, Brazil, India and China. ONEMET represents AIC in Southern Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Slovenia.
